WebFeb 22, 2009 · The distinction, I believe, is that "knowledge of" English grammar means knowing how to use the grammar, whereas "knowledge about" would mean something more abstract--e.g. to know that in English, word order is important, articles are used, and nouns & verbs have to "agree."
